Bathi X

Meet Xolani “Bathi X” Nzama, a South African music producer, songwriter and the founder and Business Development Manager of Xolanza Music, an independent record label established in 2020.

Xolani founded Xolanza Music from a desire to create music and build a platform that could also help other talented artists develop their careers. What began as an outlet for his own creativity grew into a label focused on discovering, developing and promoting artists while creating opportunities for them to share their music with wider audiences.

As the founder and Business Development Manager, Xolani is involved in identifying new talent and business opportunities, artist development, music promotion and supporting the growth of the label. As a creative, he also contributes to songwriting and music production.

His musical journey spans several genres and identities. Under his Luv D Nuz alter ego, Xolani released the 2020 Kwaito single “Memories”, featuring Popzile, Truth LK and Syanda Mculo.

Under the name Bathi X, he released the hip-hop single “B Ok”, featuring Klephent and the late vocalist Mavi.

In 2023, Xolani released the Afro-pop EP “Kasi Dream”, bringing together songwriters, producers, and vocalists from in and around Umlazi. In 2024, he followed with the Afro single “Cloud 9”, featuring rising female vocalist Anga.

In 2026, Xolani expanded his musical output with several new releases. Under his Luv D Nuz (LDN) alter ego, he released the “LDN” EP, a Gqom project reflecting his connection to eThekwini and township culture.

He also released “Imali/Zaka”, featuring Bhoboza, Prince Olumor, Quiver MC and Xolanza Music.

Through Xolanza Music, he released the Afro House EP “Matters of the Heart” and the single “Seasons Change”, featuring 2Wala, Solam and Prince Olumor.

Xolani is currently working on a new album scheduled for release later in 2027, continuing to develop his sound while bringing together his experience as a producer, songwriter, artist and independent music entrepreneur.

Beyond his own releases, Xolani remains committed to discovering fresh talent and creating opportunities for artists to reach their full potential. Through Xolanza Music, his ambition is to contribute to the growth of South Africa’s music industry while gradually expanding its reach across Africa and onto global stages.

Xolanza Music’s mission is to empower and support musicians in launching and developing sustainable careers in the entertainment industry. Through music publishing, artist management, recording services and music related events, the label aims to provide artists with the resources, support and platform they need to develop their careers and connect with audiences.
