Xolanza Music is an independent South African record label rooted in Umlazi, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, and driven by a passion for music, culture and creative expression.
Founded in 2020, Xolanza Music was created to provide a platform for artists whose talent, stories and creativity deserve to be heard. We believe that music is more than entertainment, it is a form of expression, a reflection of culture and a powerful way of connecting people.
Our work is shaped by the sounds and experiences of South Africa, while our vision reaches beyond our local community to audiences across Africa and the world.
Our Story
Xolanza Music grew from a love for music and a desire to create opportunities for independent artists. Our journey is closely connected to the township, where music has always played an important role in culture, identity and community.
We believe independent artists should have the opportunity to develop their sound, establish their identity and build sustainable careers without losing the authenticity that makes their music unique.
Through Xolanza Music, we aim to create a home for original ideas, emerging talent and music that represents different experiences of contemporary African life.

What We Do
Xolanza Music operates across several areas of the music industry, including artist development, music production, artist management, music publishing, recorded music and promotion.
We work with artists to develop their creative direction, strengthen their musical identity and create opportunities for their work to reach wider audiences.
Our approach is centred on collaboration. We believe artists should be encouraged to develop their own voices while receiving the support, guidance and platforms needed to grow.
Celebrating African Music & Culture
Our catalogue reflects the diversity of African music and the constantly evolving sounds coming from South Africa.
We work across genres including Afro House, Gqom, Kwaito, Hip Hop, Afro Pop and other African inspired sounds. Rather than limiting ourselves to one sound, we embrace creativity and allow artists to explore different musical directions.
For us, music and culture are inseparable. Every song can carry a story, preserve an experience, represent a community or introduce a new perspective.
